Winter meetings are usually held on the fourth Thursday of each month between September and April.

The dates of these meetings, as well as social events such as our summer barbeque, winter social and our bee 'safaris', as well as other events that may be of interest, will be listed on the calendar below.  Be sure to check regularly for any updates to the calendar for coming months.

Colin Rees and Henry Kendall will answer your beekeeping questions.

A fun evening covering a wide range of bee topics.

'Honey Tasting' - 19:30

Bring your honey, compare with honey from other apiaries.

An evening to meet other members and review the season past.

'Holiday in the Hedgerow' - 19:30

Holly will give a talk on foraging, just like the bees! Samples on the night.

'Xmas Get-together' - 19:00 for 19:30

Details will be circulated in November.  RBG is not all about beekeeping!

Bring your partner / friend / family and don't forget a Secret Santa present.  A great start to Yuletide.

An evening to meet up with other members new and old.

Beekeeping Safari - 09:00 to 17:00

Led by experienced bee inspectors.

An extremely popular event and a great opportunity to get hands on bee-time, learn from the experts and visit a variety of members' apiaries.  Lots of opportunity for discussion with other beekeepers and a chance to get your bees’ health and management techniques expertly assessed.  And a pasty!

  £5.00 charge, limited numbers - to ensure your place please respond promptly to information request emails sent out in April.

Summer BBQ - from 18:00

Hosted at the home of one of our members and always a firm favourite.

Meat, Fish and Vegetarian options.

Bring a bottle and your partner / friend / family, chat, relax and have fun.

'Beekeepers' Question Time' - 19:30

An opportunity to meet and celebrate the 2019 honey harvest.

(Well, beekeepers by nature are ever the optimists!)

 

 

 

 

 

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR:

Regular meetings will take place at the Group Apiary at The Lost Gardens of Heligan - a great chance for new beekeepers to learn more about the practical side of beekeeping and see the bees hard at work.

Email notifications will be sent out in advance to anyone who registers and interest and diary records of the meetings will be posted on the website.

 

 

GET INVOLVED:

Our Group relies on members taking on officers' roles and assisting at events.

If you can help, please do - advise the Secretary if you wish to know more about any of the roles.
