Matthew lives in Grampound Road with his wife Victoria and daughter Amelia. He is a relative newcomer to beekeeping, having initially attended Colin Ree's introductory course at Probus Primary School in 2011 after being introduced to the craft by Geoff Hodgson.
Matthew has experimented with various types of hive, but currently maintains a small apiary comprising of three national hives at his allotment plot near to his home.
Aside from beekeeping, Matthew is passionate about all things environmental, primarily the restoration of disused and neglected areas of land by converting them to wildflower meadows. He is always keen to pursue projects that tie in beekeeping with the preservation and improvement of the environment.
